  • 2.Saturday,June 16th
In the morning,we went camping along a road in Green Park.We were happy. It was a sunny day.We were sure we would have a good time for this two-day holiday. On the way,we kept singing and making jokes.
However,in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o'clock,it was dark and windy.Soon, there was a shower.Unluckily, all of us didn't take an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide in.
Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we reached the campsite(野營地).It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went to the wrong way.We had lost our way!
We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily.Chris said we could set up(搭建) a tent to hide(躲藏) in,so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent.Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we couldn't light the fire,as everything was jye.ait.We dried(把……弄干) ourselves, chatted and waited in the tent.At about five o'clock ,it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us had been very tired.
Though this camping trip may not be very successful,we know each other better. And the most important thing I've learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.

  • 3.Li Jun,a middle school boy, felt shy and nervous when he was making a speech in class yesterday. But before the speech,he thought it was quite easy to speak in front of his classmates.
"I was wrong. It was more difficult than talking to my classmates during playtime," Li said." I felt like a mute(啞巴) and wanted to leave the classroom quickly."
Many students now have the same problem:they can talk about their ideas freely with their best friends after class, but can't speak in public.According to Zhou Hong,a teacher from a college (大學(xué)),the main reason is that schools in China pay more attention to students' writing instead of their speaking.
Zhou hopes schools can give students more chances to open their mouths, such as speech competitions ,English parties and class meeting. He also gives some advice to students. "You should practice more during your free time. When you' re speaking in public, try to smile and relax yourself.Take a deep(深的) breath and speak slowly.Imagine(想象)you're talking to your friends at home and you'll become confident."
