China will build a world-class cluster（群）of airports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by 2025.It can make a strong connection among the above three places and provide convenient life for people in these areas.
According to a plan announced by the Civil Aviation Administration（民航局）of Chína on Wednesday，the civil aviation sector in the greater bay area will continue to play a leading role worldwide by 2025.
The plan also sets goals to be reached by 2035：at that time，we will be proud of an outstanding world-class airport cluster that is safe，green and smart.
Five main airports Hong Kong International Airport，Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport，Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport，Macao International Airport and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport and a series of small airports in the area will make up the airport cluster.
To meet the need of the plan，main airports in the greater bay area have sped up basic building parts and projects in recent years.
A satellite terminal（終端） in Shenzhen airport is being built.It is expected to be completed this year and be put into use in 2023.In addition，Guangzhou airport plans to make itself larger by 2025，which mainly includes its fourth and fifth runways and a third terminal.Zhuhai airport is also preparing to enlarge itself by 2027 by building its second 790，000-square -meter terminal as well as adding 25 additional aircraft parking bays.
Last year，Hong Kong International Airport and its counterpart in Guangzhou，Shenzhen，Zhuhai and the Macao SAR dealt with more than 200 million passengers and over 8.3 million tons of cargo and air mail.In the next few years，the passenger growth rate in the Greater Bay Area is expected to reach 7 percent，twice as many as that of the global average rate，Cheung-kwok Law （director of Aviation Policy and Research Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong） forecast.
