"To be green" means taking steps to protect the environment.Every day, people make choices that influence the amount of rubbish and pollution produced in our world.Actually, here's a three-step guide to being green.
When you use less of something, you do a good thing for the Earth. For instance,a shorter shower means you use less water and fuel. Here's a list of other things you can reduce:Turn off lights when you're not using.Walk or ride your bike instead of riding in a car.Put your computer to "sleep" instead of leaving it on with the screensaver running.
Sometimes people call ours a "throwaway society".That means we're a little too willing to throw away old stuff and buy new stuff. Many times, even if you no longer need something, someone else just might. Here are some other ways to use again the stuff you have:Choose reusable cups instead of plastic ones.Take your own reusable bags when shopping.Take paper from your computer printouts and use the other side.
Changing things into something else to be used is much better than throwing them away. But what can be recycled? For example, water can be recycled:Take used water — like from the washing machine and shower — and clean it up so it's safe to use for watering the grass or flowers. Also, divide your rubbish into plastic, glass, paper and so on.Develop a recycling policy for the whole society.
We may not hope the rapid change, but let's take these simple steps today so that we will save the world for our grandsons and granddaughters tomorrow.

2.The chart below shows the amount of time that 10 to 15-year-olds spend chatting on the Internet and playing computer games on a school day in the UK.
As is shown in the chart,25% of the boys spend less than an hour chatting on the Internet.26% of the boys spend 1 to 3 hours on chatting on line. The amount of the boys chatting on line for more than 4 hours is 4%.However,the results of the girls are different, which can been seen clearly in the chart.
Results on both chatting and playing games show that more and more students depend on the Internet. This worries parents a lot.Parents hope that students can go back to the real world to enjoy nature, instead of killing time in front of the computers.
