      It was Christmas Eve，and almost all the people were getting together with their family，having the big dinner or enjoying the charming lights of the Christmas tree.But Tomas was still on the way，and it was still a long way to the destination.He felt tired，lonely and cold，especially when the wind was blowing in his cab（駕駛室）.Tomas pulled up the truck and reached for his jacket but stopped when he saw the box on the passenger seat next to him．
      His mother was the greatest mother in the world who worried about him spending Christmas on the road alone and had given him a box filled with presents before he left home.Though he is a driver now，his mum still treats him like a kid．He reached into the red stocking that was in the box and brought out a toy tractor that looked a lot like his truck.He wondered how many stores his mother had to go to before she found such a close match.Tears blinded his eyes．
      He climbed out of his truck and ran into the all﹣night café，which was a truck stop that many truck drivers liked to have a rest in.
      But today，besides those truckers who were eating and talking loudly as usual，there were a family of two sitting in a corner，wearing shabby（破舊的）clothes and looking sleepy.The mother hugged the boy who looked unhappy and tired in her arms.His hunger was easy to tell from his extremely fleshless face.
      Seeing this，Tomas missed his family more.His mum raised four kids by herself，but no matter how hard the life was，she always made sure they had a good Christmas.
